Zonta Club of Newport Harbor Grants Program
The Zonta Club of Newport Harbor Area can focus its volunteer services and financial
resources to help your organization initiate a new program/project or to expand an existing
one. In this way, we can work together to better serve the Orange County community.

Zonta Club of Newport Harbor Awards and Scholarships
Young Women in Public Affairs Award (YWPA):
The YWPA Award recognizes young women for their commitment to the volunteer sector,
volunteer leadership achievements and dedication to the advancement of the status of
women. It is not a scholarship, it is a cash award. It starts in the Zonta Clubs and continues
at District and International level. The goal of the YWPA Program is to encourage more
young women to participate in public and political life. More information...
Jane M. Klausman Scholarship (JMK):
The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are awarded to women studying
business or business-related programs at the undergraduate or Master's level and who
have demonstrated outstanding potential in the field. The Zonta Club of Newport Harbor
offers a scholarship of $1000 and submits the recipient's application to Zonta District 9.
The Zonta Districts award a scholarship of $1000 to one recipient and submits the
recipient's application to Zonta International. Zonta International offers twelve scholarships
in the amount of US$5,000 each. The scholarship may be used at any university, college
or institute offering accredited courses and degrees. More information...
Amelia Earhart Fellowship (AE Fellowship):
The Amelia Earhart Fellowships are given out at Zonta International level only. The
individual clubs do not award these fellows. Each year the Zonta "Areas" host an Amelia
Earhart Luncheon to honor local AE Fellowship winners. The Zonta Club of Newport
Harbor is part of Zonta District 9, Area 4. Our 2010 Area 4 AE Luncheon honored our local
AE Fellowship winner; Carol Thornton. More about this event.....
