Zonta International hierarchy looks like this:

Zonta Clubs belong to "Areas":

  • The Zonta Club of Newport Harbor belongs to Area 4, which includes clubs in Long
    Beach, Irvine, San Diego and San Luis Mexico.

Zonta Areas belong to "Districts":

  • Our Area 4 belongs to District 9, which includes 33 clubs across CA, NV, AZ, HI, UT

The District Governor hosts a District Conference every other year. This year the District 9
Conference was hosted by our District Governor, Karen Foissotte, at the Mission Inn in
Riverside, CA, in October 2009.

During District Conferences we review and vote on changes to the Rules of Procedures.
We also attend workshops and network with the women from the other clubs in our District.
It's a great opportunity to learn about what the other clubs are doing for service projects
and bring those ideas back to our own club.
